3.2 Free Cancellation and Modification

4. Pricing, Payment, and Included Extras
4.1 Displayed Currency and Pricing
All prices displayed on tiranaluxcar.com are shown in Euros (EUR) unless otherwise stated. Albania operates with the Albanian Lek (ALL) as its national currency, and some suppliers may charge in ALL at the prevailing exchange rate at the time of rental. The final amount charged may differ slightly from the displayed estimate if currency conversion is applied by the supplier or your bank.
Quoted daily and weekly rates are inclusive of the basic rental fee. The total price shown at checkout includes all mandatory charges that we are aware of at the time of display. Optional extras are listed separately and are added to your total only if selected.
4.2 What Is Included in Your Rental Rate
Standard inclusions vary by supplier and vehicle class, but most bookings made through our platform include unlimited mileage, basic Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance, Theft Protection (TP), and local taxes. 4.3 Optional Extras and Add-ons

5. Vehicle Use Rules and Prohibited Activities
All renters agree to use the vehicle lawfully and in accordance with Albanian road traffic regulations throughout the rental period. You are responsible for familiarizing yourself with local traffic laws before driving, including speed limits on national roads such as the SH1 connecting Tirana to Durres and the A1 motorway.
The following activities are strictly prohibited and will void any insurance coverage and entitle the supplier to recover the full cost of damages from the renter:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or any substance that impairs judgment
- Off-road driving on unsurfaced tracks, riverbeds, or mountain paths not designated for standard vehicles
- Using the vehicle for racing, rallying, or any competitive driving activity
- Subletting, hiring out, or otherwise transferring the vehicle to any third party not named on the rental agreement
- Transporting the vehicle on a ferry or across international borders without prior written approval from the supplier
- Using the vehicle for commercial transportation of passengers for reward
- Towing any trailer, caravan, or other vehicle without the supplier's prior written authorization
- Allowing any driver not named on the rental agreement to operate the vehicle
- Overloading the vehicle beyond its stated passenger or luggage capacity
In the event of an accident, theft, or any incident involving the vehicle, you must notify the supplier immediately and obtain a police report from the Albanian State Police before moving the vehicle where possible. Failure to report an incident will invalidate your insurance coverage.
6. Insurance and Liability
6.1 Basic Coverage Included
All vehicle rentals facilitated through Tirana Lux Car include, as a minimum, basic Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) in line with standard industry practice. This coverage reduces the renter's financial liability in the event of damage to or theft of the rental vehicle, subject to an excess amount.
6.2 Excess Amounts
The excess (also referred to as the deductible) is the maximum amount the renter may be charged for a single incident of damage or theft even if the total repair or replacement cost is higher. Excess amounts vary by vehicle category and supplier. For economy and compact cars rented in Tirana, typical excess amounts range from EUR 300 to EUR 800. For SUVs and larger vehicles, the excess may be higher. The exact excess applicable to your booking will be stated in your confirmation.
6.3 Optional Full Coverage Upgrade
Renters may purchase a Full Coverage Upgrade that reduces the excess to zero. This upgrade provides complete peace of mind, particularly for travelers planning road trips to more challenging terrain such as the mountain roads of Tirana County or journeys south toward the Albanian Riviera. The Full Coverage Upgrade does not cover damage resulting from any of the prohibited activities listed in Section 5.
6.4 Personal Effects and Third-Party Property
Basic rental insurance does not cover damage to or loss of personal belongings left in the vehicle. We recommend that travelers carry adequate travel insurance that includes personal property cover. Third-party liability insurance (TPL) is a legal requirement under Albanian law and is included in every rental.
7. Limitation of Liability
Tirana Lux Car operates as an intermediary comparison and booking facilitation platform. We connect travelers with independent vehicle suppliers and do not own, operate, or maintain any rental vehicles. As such, our liability is limited to the facilitation service we provide and does not extend to the conduct, negligence, or actions of any vehicle supplier, their employees, or the condition of any vehicle provided.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tirana Lux Car shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this website or any rental booking made through it, including but not limited to vehicle breakdowns, accidents, delays, or dissatisfaction with a supplier's service levels.
Our total liability to you in connection with any booking shall not exceed the booking facilitation fee paid by you to us in relation to that specific reservation. This limitation does not affect your statutory rights under Albanian consumer protection law or any other mandatory legal protections that apply in your jurisdiction.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Albania. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms or your use of tiranaluxcar.com that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Tirana, Albania.
If you are accessing this website from outside Albania, you acknowledge that you do so voluntarily and that local laws of your country of residence may also apply in certain circumstances. Nothing in these terms excludes any mandatory statutory rights you may hold under the laws of your own jurisdiction.
